CONNECTICUT - Republicans rang bells to raise money for The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign in Connecticut again this holiday. The Salvation Army of Southern New England, Connecticut Senate Republicans and Connecticut House Republicans partnered with local businesses to raise money that will benefit constituents in districts throughout the state. Funds donated will help The Salvation Army serve communities by providing toys, warm coats, nutritious meals and other vital services throughout the year for thousands of children, adults and families.
$3,321 was raised this year and over $200,000 throughout the last several years for the Republican Kettle Campaign. “The annual holiday season collaboration between the House and Senate Republican caucuses and the Salvation Army produced meaningful impact in the lives of people throughout the state,” House Republican Outreach Coordinator Catherine Thomas said. “We’ve already met to discuss next season’s strategy, and I’m confident this partnership fueled by generous contributions from constituents in the towns we serve will continue to blossom!”
“There is room for everyone to ring the bell for The Salvation Army,” said Major Gregory Hartshorn, Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army Southern New England Division. “Once again, we are grateful for the gift of time offered by our Republican officials to stand at a community store and call people to action in donating to The Salvation Army red kettle campaign.”
